FOR THE second consecutive year, HBNC is hosting the Christmas Lights Wonderland at the Botanic Gardens, next to the Urangan Community Wellness Centre.
The Gardens will be transformed into a magical holiday experience, featuring thousands of twinkling lights, festive installations, and enchanting pathways that will delight families and visitors.
New this year is the addition of a Snow Land, in collaboration with ComLife, further enhancing the Wonderland’s charm.
This year’s event is strengthened by the partnership between Julie Devling, CEO of the Community Lifestyles Agency (CLA), and Tony Bonello, General Manager of the Hervey Bay Boat Club.
Their combined efforts promise to deliver an even more memorable experience for the community.
Julie Devling expressed excitement about CLA’s involvement, “It’s a fantastic opportunity to bring the community together, celebrate the season, and share the spirit of giving.”
Tony Bonello echoed her sentiments, noting that the Hervey Bay Boat Club is proud to continue supporting the event, “The Wonderland will be an unforgettable experience for all ages, offering families a chance to stroll through the enchanted gardens and enjoy the festive atmosphere.”
Tanya Stevenson shared her enthusiasm for the event’s growth, noting that over 20,000 people attended last year.
This year’s event will run from 11 to 23 December, 5pm to 8pm daily.
Entry is via the Chinese Garden, with a gold coin donation requested to support future events.
An Inclusive Silent Night will take place on 18 December.
A safe drop-off and pick-up zone will be available at the Chinese Garden entrance.
Key sponsors for the event include Hervey Bay Boat Club, Paton’s Electrical Services, Hervey Bay Baptist Church, Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre, Bunnings, Community Lifestyles Agency, and the Fraser Coast Regional Council.
Volunteers are also needed to help make the event a success in the two weeks leading up to Christmas.
