Cr Paul Truscott has been appointed Deputy Mayor for the Fraser Coast Regional Council.
Cr Truscott said he was honoured to be taking on the role again after having previously served as Deputy Mayor for a year from March 2022 to March 2023.
“The Fraser Coast is a dynamic, rapidly growing region which brings a range of challenges and opportunities for Council and the community,” he said.
“As a Council, we are committed to providing focused service delivery, maintaining financial sustainability, effectively managing and maintaining our assets, and planning for the future.
“I am eager to contribute my skills, experience, and passion as Deputy Mayor. I look forward to working diligently alongside all Councillors and staff to foster a positive and productive work environment.
“I am ready and excited for the opportunity to serve our community once again in this capacity, and I look forward to working closely with the Mayor and all my Council colleagues to build better communities together.”
Cr Truscott was appointed Deputy Mayor by his Council colleagues at today’s Post-Election Council meeting at Maryborough City Hall.
Council appoints the position annually, with Cr Denis Chapman serving as Deputy Mayor since March 2023.
Council confirmed that its first Ordinary Meeting for the 2024 – 2028 term will be on Wednesday 24 April 2024 at 10am in the Hervey Bay Council Chambers.
Future Ordinary Meetings will be held on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 10am.
