Andrew Broad; a vision for tomorrow

LIVING on the Fraser Coast is great.  This is the best place in Australia, but our quality of life will only be maintained if the right choices are made.

Growth without strategic planning and effective advocacy results in the loss of our unique character.

We deserve.

A healthy lifestyle, with sporting facilities, parks, and a beautiful esplanade by the bay.

Access to modern and well-staffed hospitals and health services, with adequate airlinks to ensure the best specialist services for our community.

Expanded education opportunities, vocational training that encourages our youth to stay and make our town better.

Wildlife corridors, so that our suburbs are a vision of green, not just tin and tile roofs.

Enhanced access to our waterways, and quality road and water infrastructure.

Meaningful employment, with a local government that encourages investment and job creation. And keeps rates fair.

A good local Government can set the vision for the future.

Together, we can make this part of the world even better.

Andrew Broad - Candidate Division 7

Jan Hegge; Current Councillor for Division 7

AS A RESIDENT of the Fraser Coast region for 41 years, the last 24 in Hervey Bay, I have acquired a broad range of skills, knowledge, and experience in public, private & community sectors. These and my extensive networks & knowledge of the region have equipped me to effectively and responsibly perform the duties and tasks required in my current role of Division 7 Councillor.

I am very keen to continue in this role as I have a passion for our community, and I have enjoyed assisting many residents with inquiries.

Recently, I have been advocating for a public bus service for River Heads, Booral, and further parts of Division 7 into town, and assisting a local youth training organisation to access Government funding to expand their much-needed programs to address youth crime.

While I am extremely passionate about preserving the relaxed lifestyle that we enjoy on the Fraser Coast, I support balanced growth with sustainable development.

Alicia Wade; Passion, Community, Uplift

EAGERLY stepping into the arena for Division 6 in the forthcoming elections, I bring over two decades of expertise in early childhood education and corporate leadership to the vibrant community of the Fraser Coast. My journey across three states, marked by achievements in leadership roles, positions me as a candidate with a profound grasp of strategic planning, financial acumen, and community upliftment.

Passion fuels my commitment to shaping the local landscape, particularly the Esplanade, preserving the natural allure of the Fraser Coast. As a resilient single mother who triumphed over domestic violence, I intimately understand the struggles of financial balancing and small business ownership, having transitioned from corporate realms to entrepreneurship in 2020.

My vision for Division 6 and the broader Fraser Coast centres on safety, mental health advocacy, fostering business growth, and conscientious financial strategy. Pledging to champion competitive
rates to spur investment, my focus extends to optimising traffic flow with thoughtfully designed roads and responsible economic planning to shield future generations from unwarranted debt burdens.

I stand as a candidate deeply attuned to the community’s pulse, dedicated to channeling time and energy into tangible improvements.

Let’s collaboratively forge a dynamic, secure, and flourishing Fraser Coast.

Alicia Wade – Division 6

Kathryn Forgan; Vision, Leadership, Progress

I AM A TEACHER, Lecturer, Researcher, Author, Educational Advisor and Business Manager.  These roles have given the skills to be a successful councilor.

I am passionate about the Fraser Coast and what we can achieve and I am prepared to put my hand up and make it happen. I practice from a strong Ethical framework and believe that everyone person deserves representation and the ability to connect within their community.

I want to be part of a council that is creative in their thinking and reasoning, where they are solution focused and where we have robust respectful conversations.

My priorities include better environmental and sustainable long term planning across the Fraser Coast that respects and embraces green zones to reduce heating, utilize our natural surroundings and create spaces for our native plants and animals.

Past performance WILL DICTATE future outcomes, lets keep the Fraser moving forward.
