Subway trains and ninja nuns at Z-PAC Theatre
2 min read

Z-PAC Theatre has two intriguing one-act plays that showcase the diverse range of the human experience.

The first production, Tracks, written by Peter Tarsi and directed by Jonathan Canning, takes viewers on an emotional journey with ten strangers who mysteriously find themselves in a subway station. With no memory of how they arrived, they are forced to confront their pasts as they face an ultimate decision. The show explores the themes of life, death, and fate, creating an atmosphere of suspense and philosophical introspection.

Director Jonathan Canning expressed his enthusiasm for the production, stating, "I like the sense of mystery and intrigue in Tracks."

He said it was exciting watching the emotional journey of the characters, "We watch these characters develop and come to terms with their fates. It’s full of emotional highs, and audiences will love seeing the characters interact."

Canning also highlighted the contrast of dark and light in the play, which he believes mirrors real life, "We all carry emotional baggage."

The second offering, The Crows of Darkmoor Common, directed by Jonathan Dunn, presents a completely different but equally engaging experience.

Fresh from the crazy stable comes another weird and wonderful concoction in the vein of past shows like Flummoxed and Rough.

This visually and physically intense production is set in a dystopian, steam-punk-inspired 1860’s style world. Words have been cancelled for their ‘toxic effect’ on individual wellbeing. Not just some words; all words.

Dunn described the play as "visual and physical theatre at its ridiculous best," with an ensemble cast that has brought this bizarre, fast-paced world to life.

The plot centers on a diabolical scheme to steal golden eggs guarded by a convent of Ninja Nuns. With a mix of anti-heroes, romance, and absurdity, The Crows of Darkmoor Common promises to be a highly entertaining and unique theatrical experience. Dunn praised the cast for their creativity, saying, "This play has simply built itself."

Both plays offer audiences with an unforgettable night of theatre.

"Tracks" and “The Crows of Darkmoor Common” run from October 11- 27, across three weekends. To secure your seat, visit www.zpactheatre.com.au. For group booking discounts, contact Secretary Helen at 0427 225 008 or email bookings@zpactheatre.com.au.
