The young athlete has earned a coveted spot in the Brisbane Broncos Development Squad for 2025, marking a major milestone in his sporting career.

A student at Bayside Christian College, Braxton’s rugby league journey began at just six years old when he joined the Hervey Bay Seagulls under the guidance of coach Brett Carter.

It was here that Braxton’s passion for the sport ignited, with Carter continuing to mentor him to this day.

Chris Nash, another key figure in Braxton’s development, has also played an essential role in helping him refine his skills.

Braxton’s rugby league career has been nothing short of impressive.

In 2023, he was selected for the State Development Squad in OzTag, and in 2024, his talents were recognised further with representative honours for both Hervey Bay and the Wide Bay Bulls.

He was also named the Wide Bay Players' Player for rugby league, cementing his place as one of the region’s brightest young talents.

Not content to rest on his achievements, Braxton has already secured a place in the 2025 State Development Squad for OzTag.

The Thompson family has been instrumental in Braxton’s success, with parents Damien and Erika providing steadfast support.

“He’s dedicated and hardworking, and we can’t wait to see where his rugby league journey takes him.”

With his natural ability, unrelenting work ethic, and strong backing from his family and mentors, Braxton is destined for a bright future in Australian rugby league.

His remarkable achievements at such a young age show that he has the potential to make a lasting impact on the sport.
