HBNC, in partnership with Dunga Derby - Rally for a Cause, will host the inaugural Halloween Trunk or Treat Fun for Families event on Friday, 1 November 2024, from 4PM to 8PM at City Park.
This FREE celebration offers a safe and exciting alternative for local families to enjoy Halloween in a community-oriented and safe environment.
Following the success of the Christmas Lights Wonderland, which attracted more than 20,000 visitors, HBNC has expanded its social enterprise to support a Youth Events Team that is committed
to fostering connected communities through engaging youth-led events.
As Halloween approaches, families often walk their local streets to participate in traditional festivities. However, safety concerns can overshadow the fun.
The Trunk or Treat event will provide a secure, well-lit environment at City Park, allowing families to dress up, visit the Dunga Derby-decorated vehicles with activities delivered from their trunks.
Local charity Rally for a Cause brings invaluable resources and community spirit to this event, setting the stage for a trial run that could expand into a broader initiative involving other community groups in the future.
Rally for a Cause general manager Scott Rowe congratulated the HBNC on the initiative and encouraged families to get involved.
“This is another great initiative to provide low-cost, family friendly entertainment to Fraser Coast locals and we are delighted to partner with the neighbourhood centre,” Mr Rowe said.
“Our Dunga Derby family raise hundreds of thousands of dollars each year for sick and disadvantaged locals in an attempt to forge a more caring and compassionate community. We look forward to being involved.”
Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to celebrate Halloween in a safe, friendly, and connected community setting. Mark your calendars for 1 November and join us at City Park!
