MARYBOROUGH Open Gardens is an annual event that showcases the diverse and exquisite gardens of Maryborough, Queensland.
Founded on a passion for horticulture and community, the event aims to inspire and educate visitors while fostering a sense of appreciation for nature’s beauty.
Organised and run by dedicated volunteers of the Maryborough Horticultural Society, Maryborough Open Gardens continues to be a beloved tradition that celebrates the joys of gardening and outdoor living.
The Maryborough Open Gardens returns for its much-anticipated 2024 event, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty of carefully tended landscapes and vibrant flora.
Scheduled for the weekend of August 31st and September 1st, this event promises a delightful journey through both Town and Country Gardens, showcasing the horticultural wonders of the region.
On Saturday, August 31st, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Town Gardens will open their gates to the public, offering a glimpse into urban green spaces teeming with life and creativity.
Then, on Sunday, September 1st, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Country Gardens will welcome visitors to explore the tranquility and charm of rural landscapes.
In a bid to ensure the sustainability of this cherished event and reduce reliance on Council funding, the volunteer organisers of Maryborough Open Gardens have introduced a modest entry fee. Priced at $5.00 per adult for each day, this fee grants access to all participating gardens on the respective day of visitation.
Children under 16 years of age enjoy complimentary entry, fostering an inclusive environment for families to enjoy the beauty of the gardens together.
The Maryborough Open Gardens event remains a labour of love, made possible by the dedication and passion of volunteers committed to nurturing community engagement and appreciation for the natural world.
By attending this event, visitors not only support local gardens but also contribute to the preservation and promotion of green spaces within the Maryborough region.
