THE FRASER Coast Cheer and Dance studio’s Open Hip Hop Dance Team has achieved a major milestone, clinching 1st place and Novice Grand Champions at the recent Aussie Gold Internationals on the Gold Coast.
Competing against over 60 novice teams from Queensland and beyond, the team emerged with the highest score across all styles of dance, marking a significant accomplishment for the local studio.
This outstanding victory has earned the team an invitation to the National Championships in Adelaide this November. This prestigious opportunity will allow them to represent Hervey Bay on a national stage and be an incredible experience of a lifetime.
Founded in October 2022, Fraser Coast Cheer and Dance has rapidly expanded, now boasting 14 teams. The studio, located in Hervey Bay, next to the PCYC, offers a range of competitive and recreational cheer and dance classes for ages 2 and up, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.
The victorious Hip Hop team, known as "White Heat," comprises six dedicated athletes aged 14 to 39. Julie, the oldest team member, has rekindled her passion for dance only recently, with the guidance from coach Del, seeking a fulfilling hobby outside of her work and family life. She is eager to represent Fraser Coast at the Nationals before turning 40 next year.
Del, the team’s passionate coach, has been instrumental in their success. Her dedication and enthusiasm for dance have driven the team to excel, and she is immensely proud of their achievement. Del’s commitment to making each routine shine on stage reflects her deep passion for the sport and her unwavering support for her dancers.
To achieve this, the team is seeking support from the local community. They are reaching out to businesses for sponsorship to cover travel and accommodation expenses. Sponsors will not only help the team reach Adelaide but will also gain valuable exposure through logo placements, social media mentions, and marketing materials.
