THE BURRUM Districts Respite Association Inc. has recently received significant funding from the Fraser Coast Regional Council Community Grants Program and the Hervey Bay RSL Grants Program to support the completion of a vital new project.
The generous funding enabled the purchase of a new pergola kit and the construction of the pergola by a local builder, significantly enhancing the facilities available to the association's clients and the wider community.
In the latest round of grants, the Burrum Districts Respite Association Inc. was able to provide its clients and community members with a shaded, covered outdoor area, designed to offer a place where individuals can connect with nature and enjoy the gardens in comfort.
The new pergola also creates an ideal space for a variety of community events, celebrations, and respite activities throughout the year, encouraging people to spend more time outdoors and fostering a greater sense of community.
“This funding allowed for our new pergola kit to be purchased and for the structure to be built by a local builder,” said Wade Price of the Burrum Districts Respite Association Inc.
“The new pergola will provide essential shade and a welcoming outdoor space for people to enjoy and feel more connected to our gardens. It has truly made a difference in the way we serve our community.”
The funding received from both the Fraser Coast Regional Council and the Hervey Bay RSL has been instrumental in helping local Not-For-Profit groups carry out important community projects.
The ongoing support from these organisations is widely praised by those in the sector, enabling them to create lasting, positive impacts in the Fraser Coast area.
