THE FRASER Lions Club held their Annual Changeover at the Kondari Resort last month and welcomed a new Board of Directors for the 2023/2024 year.
The new Board will consist of Andy Mcphail as Events Coordinator, Bonnie Fox 1st Vice President, PDG Les Crossman as Installation Officer, and John Herron will be President for the 2023/2024 year. Also on the board will be Graham Bates as Assistant Treasurer, Sally McPhail as Publicity Officer, David Crowther Treasurer for the year, Lynne Crossman a Director, Shona Bates as 2nd Vice President and Membership and Secretary Danielle Grieves.
The Fraser Lions Club support over 30 local community and charity groups in the region each year. They have also been a longtime supporter of the iconic Hervey Bay Ambulance Wheel.
Lions Club members are men and women who strive to make a difference in their local community as well as in communities worldwide. Their volunteer efforts go beyond the support of vision care to addressing unmet health and education needs worldwide.
On the night, several awards were presented by the incoming President. The Progressive Melvin Jones Award was awarded to Bruce Taylor, Melvin Jones Graham Bates, James D Richardson, Andy McPhail and Colin Mibus. The Ian Fraser Humanitarian Award was awarded to Dennis Love. The Ray Phippard Award was awarded to Shone Bates, Tony and Janet Vaibar. Lastly George Portbury was awarded The Quiet Achiever Award.
All who attended the function enjoyed the dinner and the night.
