FRASER Coast residents are invited to participate in free art workshops throughout the region over the next three months to build connections and create a unique ‘CommuniTea’ set.

Mayor George Seymour said the Fraser Coast CommuniTea Set project aims to build community resilience, reduce social isolation and support community recovery through a series of art workshops.

“Over the next three months, community-based art workshops will be held across the Fraser Coast, where professional artists will guide participants in creating art that represents the unique spirit of their communities and tells a visual story of the region,” he said.

“The saying ‘a cup of tea can solve anything’ is at the heart of this project, which focuses on connection and support.

Participants will come together to chat, connect and enjoy light refreshments during the weekend workshops.

“The final workshop will bring participants from all regional workshops together to create the complete ‘CommuniTea’ set – a collaborative piece symbolising the Fraser Coast’s unity as one community puzzle that fits together.

“Community connections are essential, particularly during tough times. This project is not only about art, but also about strengthening the bonds that make our communities resilient.”

The Fraser Coast CommuniTea project is jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
