BAYSIDE Christian College is celebrating a major milestone in its Rugby League Development Program as Kobie Woodman, an inaugural member of the Bayside Barracudas, has been selected for the 2025 Brisbane Broncos Development Squad.

This marks a historic achievement for both Kobie and the college, with Woodman becoming the first Barracuda to secure a place with a National Rugby League (NRL) team.

Kobie’s journey with the Barracudas has been nothing short of remarkable.

Under the guidance of Coach Brett Carter, he has developed into a standout player, consistently impressing on the field.

His hard work and dedication paid off when he was named Player of the Series in the Highway Cup.

Additionally, Kobie represented both Hervey Bay and Wide Bay school teams, further cementing his reputation as a top-tier rugby talent.

As part of his new role with the Brisbane Broncos, Kobie will train once a month with the club’s 13-16-year-old squad on the Sunshine Coast.

His selection is a significant step towards his dream of playing in the NRL, and it highlights the strength of the development program at Bayside Christian College.

“Kobie’s achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication he's shown throughout his rugby career," said Coach Carter.

"This is just the beginning, and we are excited to see what the future holds for him."

The success of Kobie Woodman is also a promising sign for other players in the Barracudas program.

With several NRL clubs already expressing interest in the talents coming out of Bayside Christian College, Kobie is likely to be the first of many Barracudas to make it to the professional league.

For students aspiring to follow in Kobie’s footsteps, Bayside Christian College offers a specialist Rugby League Development Program.
