FRASER Coast Mates is once again hosting their highly anticipated annual Pink Dinner on Friday, October 11th. Proudly presented by Prime Agents and generously supported by the Hervey Bay RSL Club, this event has established itself as a vital part of the community’s entertainment calendar.
The Pink Dinner is not only an evening of celebration but also a powerful initiative aimed at raising awareness about mental health and generating much-needed funds for intervention counseling services.
Now in its 3rd year, the Pink Dinner has consistently garnered significant support from the community. Over the years, the event has successfully raised over $20,000, making a profound impact on the local mental health landscape.
Every $100 raised at the event directly funds a free, one-hour face-to-face counseling session. These sessions are held locally, ensuring that individuals in need can access professional support with minimal delay, which is crucial in times of crisis.
Fraser Coast Mates has mastered the art of combining entertainment with education, creating an event that is both enjoyable and enlightening. The Pink Dinner effectively informs the community about the importance of mental health, fostering a culture of understanding and reducing the stigma often associated with mental health issues.
This heightened awareness encourages people to seek help without fear of judgment, promoting a culture of empathy, openness, and support within the community.
This year’s Pink Dinner promises to be a memorable evening, featuring a panel of well-known local figures who will share their personal experiences with mental health. These speakers will discuss the challenges they have faced and the tools that have been instrumental in their journeys to wellness. Their stories will undoubtedly resonate with many in the audience, providing valuable insights and fostering a sense of connection and understanding.
The night will also include entertainment provided by Boombox 80’s, ensuring guests have an opportunity to dance the night away, thanks to the generous sponsorship of
Wide Bay Motor Group.
